The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is going to start from February 19, for which only a few days are left now. Meanwhile, a bad news related to Team India's camp has come to light. Actually, Indian team 's star batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal, who has been selected as a non-traveling reserve for the Champions Trophy, has been injured before the start of this tournament.
According to TOI report, Yashasvi is suffering from pain in his left ankle due to which he will not be able to play the Ranji Trophy semi-final match for Mumbai. TOI has given this information quoting a reliable source. He said, 'Yashasvi has been ruled out of the Ranji Trophy semi-final match as he is suffering from pain in his left ankle. He fielded in Mumbai's practice session in Nagpur today, but looked uncomfortable while batting at the nets. This is an old injury that has resurfaced.'
The report further states that due to Yashasvi's injury, the Indian selectors may now have to announce the name of a new non-traveling reserve.
It is worth noting that BCCI has selected three non-traveling reserve players for the Champions Trophy who are Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammad Siraj and Shivam Dubey. You will be surprised to know that when the Indian selectors first selected Team India for the Champions Trophy, Yashasvi was part of the main 15 team, but at the last moment he was put in the non-traveling reserve and Varun Chakraborty and Harshit Rana got a place in the main team.
