Last Friday, on 14 February, Home Minister Amit Shah concluded the 38th National Games at the International Stadium in Haldwani. During this, he talked about hosting the 2036 Olympics. He said that India is fully capable of organizing such big events. Amit Shah said in his statement,
"I can say today that India has a very bright future in sports. We have staked our claim to host the Olympics in 2036 and we are ready for it. When the Olympics are here, our players will win medals and raise the country's flag high."
"When Modiji became PM in 2014, our sports budget was Rs 800 crore, but now it will increase to Rs 3,800 crore. This shows the Modi government's commitment towards sports."
