Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal suffered a severe heart attack during a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match on March 24. The 36-year-old cricketer was immediately rushed to Fazilatunnesa Hospital in Savar, Dhaka, where his condition is reported to be critical.
Tamim was playing for Mohammedan Sporting Club against Shinepukur Cricket Club when he experienced severe chest pain just after the toss. Initially, arrangements were made to airlift him to Dhaka, but his worsening condition led to immediate treatment on the ground.
Doctor's Statement:
"The initial tests detected a heart issue. It is a difficult time for all of us. He is currently stable, and the medical team is doing its best," said Dr. Debashish Chowdhury, Chief Physician of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
