Rajasthan Royals Again Faces Match Fixing Allegations IPL 2025

Let us tell you that while chasing the target of 181 runs, Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals needed only 09 runs to win in the last over, while they still had 6 wickets in hand. However, to everyone's surprise, they lost the match by a margin of 02 runs, then LSG's Avesh Khan successfully defended the score for his team with his excellent death bowling. After this incident, allegations of match fixing started being made against the team.

Rajasthan Cricket Association made serious allegations against Rajasthan Royals

According to media reports, this defeat was not liked by the convener of the ad-hoc committee of Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA), Jaideep Bihani, who then raised the question as to how the team lost on its home ground when it needed just a few more runs to win. In fact, in an exclusive interview given to a major media agency, Bihani mentioned the controversial past of Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2025, as their players were caught in spot-fixing in 2013.

Apart from this, the then owner of this franchise Raj Kundra was also caught in betting, due to which Rajasthan Royals were banned for 02 seasons in 2016 and 2017 along with Chennai Super Kings (CSK). Therefore, he has now demanded an investigation into the matter, and urged the BCCI and other agencies to take stock of the situation. Apart from this, Jaideep Bihani has also alleged that the Rajasthan Cricket Association was kept out of overseeing the hosting of IPL 2025 due to baseless excuses.

What did Jaideep Bihani say about hosting?

In fact, Jaideep Bihani said in the interview, "The state government has appointed an ad-hoc committee in Rajasthan. After analyzing our work, we were given a service extension for the fifth time. During our tenure, we have also successfully organized all the competitions from district level to national level. However, when the time came to host IPL 2025, the Sports Council took it under its control. BCCI had initially sent a letter to RCA for IPL. The Sports Council and RR made the excuse that we do not have an MoU with Sawai Mansingh Stadium. If there is no MoU, then what happened? Are you not paying the Sports Council for every match?"

It is worth noting that Rajasthan Royals could not score 09 runs in the last over against Delhi Capitals (DC) even before this, while they had 07 wickets left and eventually lost the match in the Super Over in that match. After their fourth consecutive defeat, they are currently ranked 08th in the points table with 02 wins and 04 points out of 08 matches. Their next match will be against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on 24 April 2025 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. All the fans will be watching this match.
